Colors of Courage: Rapper Ikka speaks of his humble roots and how he made it to Bollywood’s music scene

 Ankit Singh Patyal, who's better known as Ikka is a musician and rapper, who was born and raised in New Delhi. The lad began his career in 2003, when hipsterism- hop was n’t popular on the original music scene. Speaking of his nonage, he smiles as he recalls how his parents raised him, “ My father always put in a lot of trouble and bettered in the academics. Although he was eager to join the Indian army, his forefather's illness forced him to assume maternal liabilities at the age of 14. Along with his mama and father, he took care of his two sisters, his family, and their parents. He managed everything from academy to the ménage work and has always inspired me to work hard in my life." 

 


 Revealing what first sparked his interest in rap music, he recalls, “ In 2006, I used to watch transnational musicians appearing in music vids and on TV, and it looked like that wasn't part of our Indian culture at the time. After all of this, I heeded to Bohemia and was shocked to hear a Punjabi rap. I was inspired by that and decided that we should rap in Hindi, which was our native language. ” 

“ hipsterism- hop was first introduced to me by a friend back also. I used to hear to songs from the 1990s like “ Kali kali aankhein spear spear gaal ” and had no idea what hipsterism- hop was before that. He also made me hear to Eminem’s ‘ Loose Yourself. ’ I was mesmerised by everything that was going on in the song, including the beats, air, and of course the sonics, indeed though I had no idea what was going on, ” Ikka describes allowing back to his parenting and the music culture. 
 
 “ I've always been more interested in effects that are creative.
